JUSTIN'S STORY
Justin Mayotte is a Nashville-based photographer, videographer, and director known for his work with independent artists. He began his journey behind the camera in 2006 in Massachusetts, spending over a decade capturing portraits, weddings, events, and commercial work. In college, he earned the nickname of "Squeeks" due to his puberphonia, a rare voice disorder that leaves you with a lasting first impression, and it's his easy way to embrace it in a quick and memorable way. Between his outgoing persona, kindness, humor, and his voice, you'll never forget Squeeks after meeting him.
Driven by a passion for country music, Justin launched Country Ave, a blog and media platform that gave him the opportunity to photograph some of his favorite artists at concerts and events, including Luke Bryan, Lee Brice, Lady A, Dustin Lynch, Florida Georgia Line, and LOCASH, among others.
In 2017, he moved to Nashville to fully pursue his passion in working in the music industry, focusing on creating visual content for recording artists. After years of helping hundreds of independent musicians with content for music releases, ranging from photoshoots for promo and album artwork to filming and directing music videos, Justin founded BCAM, a creative company dedicated to providing label quality content at affordable rates tailored to each artist’s needs.
Known for his generosity and dedication, Justin has consistently gone above and beyond to support artists at every level, often prioritizing their growth over profit.

He runs BCAM alongside his wife, Kristina. While she's also from Massachusetts, the two met in Nashville and were married in 2022 and welcomed their fun-loving goldendoodle, Ari, that same year. Together, they have spent the past five years building BCAM into a trusted creative partner within the independent music community and working with record labels with their growing artists as well.
2025 marked a major milestone for the Mayotte family. They purchased their first home just outside the city in Lebanon, and later that year welcomed their son, Grayson, into the world.
With a new home, a growing family, and future goals ahead, 2026 was meant to be the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

On February 26th, 2026, Justin went to the ER after experiencing severe pain on his left side while breathing. He initially believed he had pulled a muscle while working.
At the hospital, doctors performed an EKG, blood work, and an X-ray. Based on the X-ray results, a CT scan was ordered. Both scans raised concern that something more serious may be going on. Justin was then referred to an oncologist.
Before his appointment, he underwent a PET scan. During that week, we held onto hope and prayed that the findings would point to a severe infection rather than anything more serious. However, when we met with the oncologist, she confirmed her strong belief that Justin has lymphoma that has spread across both his upper and lower diaphragm. She also identified his spleen as significantly enlarged, which was causing his pain. An emergency biopsy surgery to remove a lymph node from his neck was ordered to confirm the exact type, aggressiveness, and treatment plan.
Justin has since been diagnosed with classical follicular B-cell lymphoma, a type of blood cancer classified currently as Grade 1 to 2 and Stage 3 to 4. A port was installed in his chest, and his treatment plan includes a combination of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and steroids known as R-CHOP. He began and will undergo six rounds of treatment, each cycle lasting 21 days.
After the first three months (three treatments), his medical team will perform a PET scan to evaluate how well the treatment is working and determine next steps. If the treatment is effective, he will continue with the final three rounds with the goal of achieving remission.
While this type of lymphoma is not currently curable, it is highly treatable, and many people go on to live long lives in remission. Justin began his first treatment on March 31st and is facing this fight with incredible strength, courage, and determination.
